What we collect

When you buy something. Your name, your email address, the delivery address you give us and what you ordered. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s own checkout and never reach our servers — we are told that a payment succeeded and are given the last four digits and the card type, and nothing else.

When you create a Wonder NOTE. Everything you write into the setup page: the notes themselves, any photographs you upload, any voice recordings you make, any video links you paste, the first name of the person you are giving it to, the name you are giving it from, the occasion, and the date you want the notes to start.

When you visit the site. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs — the page requested, the time, the IP address it came from — for a short period for security and diagnostics. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and there is nothing on this site that follows you to another one.

Your notes, photographs and recordings

This is the part worth reading carefully, because a Wonder NOTE is more personal than an order.

Photographs and voice recordings are stored privately. They are not published, not listed, and not readable by anyone who simply has the address of the file — access is granted one request at a time, for one hour, to a page that has already proved it holds the right link. We do not use anything you upload for marketing, we do not use it to train anything, and we do not sell it.

Your recipient reaches their notes through a link printed as a QR code on the gift. That link is the key. It is a long random code that cannot be guessed and is never listed in search results — but anyone who has the code, or a photograph of the QR, can read the notes. It is worth thinking about that before posting a picture of the gift.

We can see what you write. A small number of people run this shop, and they can read notes and see photographs when they need to — to fix something that has gone wrong with an order, or to respond if content is reported to us. Nobody reads them for any other reason.

How long we keep it

Longer than you might expect, and we would rather say so than let you find out.

A Wonder NOTE delivers one note at a time on the schedule you chose. Ninety notes at one a week is a little under two years, and when the last note has been delivered it stays on the page — that is the point of the gift, and taking it away on an anniversary would be a worse surprise than keeping it. So notes and photographs are kept for as long as the gift is live, and then indefinitely afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them.

You can ask us to delete a Wonder NOTE at any time, and we will. It is worth knowing that this deletes it for the recipient as well: their QR code will stop leading anywhere.

Order records — what was bought, what was paid, where it was sent — are kept separately for as long as tax and accounting rules require. The retention period here is a placeholder pending review.

Who else handles it

We use other companies to run the shop, and each of them only receives what it needs:

• Stripe takes the payment and holds the card details we never see.
• Printify and the printer it sends your order to receive your name, the delivery address and the artwork — including, for a Wonder NOTE, the QR code that leads to your notes.
• Supabase stores the database and the uploaded files.
• Vercel hosts the site itself.
• Resend sends the order confirmation and the link you use to write your notes.

We do not sell your information to anybody, and we do not share it for advertising. We would only hand it over otherwise if we were legally required to.

Cookies

There are no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies on this site. The only cookies set are the sign-in cookies for the people who run the shop, on the administration pages, and they are not set for anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at the address on the contact page and we will come back to you.

Which data protection law applies, and which regulator you may complain to, depends on where this business is registered. Both are to be completed before this document is published.

Children

This shop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. A Wonder NOTE may of course be a gift for a child — in that case the person buying it is the one we deal with, and the notes are written by them.

Changes to this policy

If this changes in a way that affects what happens to your notes or your photographs, we will say so here and date it.
